Saara Vallineva (Finland) maakt installaties en sculpturen van gerecyclede materialen. Dromen en herinneringen vormen de aanleiding voor haar werk. Op de Kunstvlaai 2010 was de installatie ‘Home Flight’te zien. Een dwarsdoorsnede van een vliegtuigcabine met de huislijke sfeer van thuis.

"In my everyday life settings I often limit myself and I live “non-conscious life.”
In the winter I remember the beach where I used to go to get away, opposite of the everyday.
Vastness in me responded to the vastness of the sea.
I went there to rest although it is a place of unrest in itself. It’s a place of dualities.
In my memory it becomes a place where the contrasts aren’t just land and water
but everyday and being away, safe and unsafe, belonging somewhere and being rootless.
I look at my memory of a beach through my everyday life, I remember the summer through winter."
